Intro to Me
As I'm sure you can guess I love weenie dogs and Baby Boz is my pride and joy. I do however have another dachshund love in my life, Kipland. <3 He's my family's mini weenie and he currently resides with my Mom and Dad. He's seriously the most calm, gentle, well behaved guy ever. Having him in my life first definitely made Boz a big handful.

Other than my awesome pets, I also have a pretty awesome boyfriend, Z-Shan. He was the one who actually gave me Boz as an early anniversary present. He’s my perfect other half, always there to goof around with and to be sexy bums together haha.

Some background on me. I grew up as military brat, moving every 3 years until my last couple years of high school. My favorite place to have lived being Iwakuni, Japan; my forever home. I’m half Filipino and have American and care deeply for both cultures. I am part of the best sisterhood around (Alpha Phi Gamma: Ace of <3s 36H), and I consider all of my sorority sisters to be family. In addition to that I have 2 blood sisters, 1 older (Kristina) and one younger (Karol).

Currently, I work at a law office doing secretarial work and bookkeeping for another company owned by my boss’ wife. I hope to continue with this kind of work while I build finances and further my education. My current goals for the year are to build $3000 in my savings, visit my sorority sister in Malaysia, redecorate my home (this includes buying new matching furniture), working out more regularly, and advancing my skills at the law office. Hopefully this blog will keep me on my toes and keep me pushing for these goals!

Intro to Boz

When I first got Boz he was a much different puppy than he is today. Z-Shan found Boz on Craigslist being advertised along with his many brothers and sisters. My boyfriend said when he first got Boz he was filthy and he had to wash him a couple of times before all the dirt was out of his fur. His previous owners didn’t seem the type to really care much for Boz’s behavior and well being. They had multiple young kids who I can only assume were a bit rough to the puppies because when I first got Boz he was very aggressive and skittish towards people.

He especially hated small children and would always growl at my neighbors who had 3 kids of their own. The worst part about Boz’s early behavior was how aggressive he got over seemingly nothing. He would snap and attack people after being calm around them only seconds before. I was really concerned and didn’t want Boz to be a cruel dog or for him to hurt anyone.

After some initial observations I discovered Boz’s hearing was horrible, if not existent at all. I had been asking the previous owner via text if he had gotten all of his required shots, Boz was fixed so I could only assume he had been to the vet. I wanted to continue bringing him to the same vet, but didn’t get any further news about his past medical history. So I set up an appointment with a vet in town on my own. Boz was healthy as far as the vet could see, but his hearing was quite bad due to a large buildup of wax and fur in his ears. A couple of thorough cleanings from the vet helped to clear up that issue. I read up on deaf dogs before I found out his hearing condition was temporary. The articles I read described dogs exhibiting aggressive behaviors when they couldn’t hear, and sure enough, after Boz’s ears were cleaned up a bit he became more calm and quick to learn and understand.

After a month or so of having Boz, he really started to settle in and I really got to see his personality. Boz is the most energetic dachshund I’ve ever known. He plays CONSTANTLY and is very vocal. He makes what I call “baby velociraptor” noises (if you can imagine) when he wants to play and always lets me know when he needs to go out. I love him so much <3 Now that he’s in a better place he’s much better with people and I have no problem bringing him around friends or family. He currently knows 3 tricks; sit, paw, and bang (I shoot him with a gun and he “dies”). He’s a big cuddle bug and loves to nibble on ears. Keep reading to see how Boz is doing and what he likes to do at home!
